Bollywood A-listers Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor tied the knot on Thursday, not in a big, garland-studded Indian wedding as many would have imagined, but in their apartment in Bandra with just family and close friends in attendance.

Bhatt, 29, posted a series of beloved photos with Ranbir, 39, on Instagram after the wedding to announce that they tied the knot on their balcony after dating for five years.

Alia and Ranbir matched the color of their ivory wedding outfits, styled by go-to Bollywood wedding designer, Sabyasachi Mukherjee.

According to the brand’s ‘Sabyasachi’ Instagram page, Alia wore a hand-dyed ivory organza saree embroidered with fine tilla work and a hand-embroidered fabric veil. The bride paired the trousseau with Sabyasachi Heritage jewelry, which featured uncut diamonds and hand-strung pearls.

Ranbir wore an embroidered silk sherwani with Sabyasachi uncut diamond buttons, a silk organza safa and a shawl with zari marori embroidery, the note on the brand’s page further states. Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelery’s killangi featured uncut diamonds, emeralds and pearls and a multi-strand pearl necklace.

Now, according to popular Instagram account Diet Sabya, Alia’s wedding veil has been personalized as a tribute to her special day. The words “April 14, 2022” have been hand-woven into the fabric.

Meanwhile, Alia’s bridal jewelry had a connection to her husband Ranbir. She wore a gold mangalsutra chain with an infinity pattern and a teardrop diamond. Her Mrinalini Chandra-designed kaleeras featured gold stars, clouds and bird trinkets, while her giant engagement ring featured a mammoth diamond.

For those who don’t know, Ranbir’s lucky number is 8 which has a deep connection with the sign of infinity.

Ranbir and Alia had fallen in love with each other while filming their upcoming movie ‘Brahmastra’. The two made their first appearance as a couple at Sonam Kapoor’s wedding reception in 2018.
