Couples planning to get married soon will have a golden opportunity to explore the various wedding ceremony offerings and accompaniments.
The third annual “Behind the Veil” wedding will take place on Saturday, February 19 at Gigi’s house.
Gigi’s, located at 157 West Main Street in downtown Morristown, will be hosting this event to make available to potential brides and grooms everyone and everything that comes with achieving a seamless and heartwarming exchange of vows.
Hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Gigi’s has been known for its wedding and baby registries since the store opened in 2011.
Wanda DeBord, manager of Gigi’s, talked about the store’s various offerings.
“We offer a marriage and birth registry,” she said. “We invite brides to come see what we have.”
The store also offers fine china, glassware, serving pieces, flatware, linens, home décor and seasonal decorations.
Lines carried include Pickard, Casafina, Skyros and Gerson.
“We have China, if you’re coming as a bride you’re going to want your crockery, cutlery and home decor,” she said. “We have a bridal section for gifts, wedding planners, gift journals, guestbooks and other things you can use during the wedding.”
One thing DeBord has added is a shelf for each bride who has a registry. The shelf features a photo of the couple and some of the items from their registry.
“It’s a way to personalize it,” she says.
With everything going on, DeBord has extended the shelf idea into the digital world. Each registry item is available on the Facebook page under Wedding Registry for that particular bride.
On the day of the event, people can enter the store or participate online through Facebook’s Wedding Registries.
“We can take the transaction over the phone,” DeBord said.
A “Swag Bag” containing information and items from local vendors will give registered brides information on venues, entertainment, wedding cakes, photography and more.
“I ask local vendors to give me brochures, business cards, pins, key chains, and every bride who signs up with us gets a bag with vendor information,” DeBord explained. “I have people working with me every year and we add people every year. It’s been really good.”
There will be extras for those attending in person.
“There will also be light refreshments served,” DeBord said. Door prizes will also be distributed.
Gigi’s is a sister store to Rowena’s in downtown Morristown.
