AMA red carpet: Cardi B wears gold mask and veil at 2021 American Music Awards

LOS ANGELES – Cardi B tweeted that her wardrobe for the American Music Awards 2021 took about a month to prepare, and it did not disappoint.

The AMA host wore a gold mask paired with matching metal nails, a black veil and a strapless maxi dress on the red carpet.

This year’s AMA red carpet was all about sparkle and shine: Most nominated artist Olivia Rodrigo wore a sparkly sky blue dress.

Slits and cutouts also had a moment this year: performer Chloe’s dress featured a hip-high slit under a skintight cutout at the waist, and Halle Bailey donned a belly-revealing brown velvet dress.

Cardi won’t let fans spread “rumors” about her look ahead of the Fan Awards.

“Can you give a scoop of who [you’re] wear on clusters?” a fan tweeted at the rap superstar.

“You went to have [to] listening,” she replied.

The “Bodak Yellow” and “I Like It” artist wore an elegant black halter dress for Friday’s red carpet rollout ceremony.

“I’m excited to wear all the clothes I have…because I give fashion,” she said at the event.

South Korean superstars BTS were crowned artist of the year at the American Music Awards on Sunday, brushing off challenges from Taylor Swift, Drake and The Weeknd as they scooped a total of three awards. Olivia Rodrigo entered the evening with seven nominations in the lead, but only took home the crown of favorite new artist of the year.

Performers included Coldplay and BTS, Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean, Jennifer Lopez, Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak. joining forces as Silk Sonic, Bad Bunny, Diplo, Mickey Guyton and Tyler, The Creator.
